For most travellers, the best time to go to Cabo Pulmo is during the dry season, which runs from October to June, with the shoulder months of October, November, May, and June offering the best balance of pleasant weather and fewer crowds.
During these shoulder months, the air temperatures are warm but not excessively hot, typically ranging from 25°C to 30°C. The water temperature is also very inviting, usually around 26°C, making it superb for snorkeling and diving. You'll find the marine life is active and visibility underwater is generally excellent.
The peak season, from December to April, offers fantastic weather with slightly cooler temperatures, often around 20-25°C, which is ideal for those who prefer to avoid intense heat. However, this is also when Cabo Pulmo sees the most visitors, so accommodation and tour prices can be higher, and booking in advance is essential. It's a great time for whale watching along the coast.
The summer months, July to September, are the rainy season, characterized by higher humidity and the occasional tropical storm. While the rain often comes in short, heavy bursts, it can affect road conditions, and some businesses might operate on reduced hours.
