The best areas to stay in Ban Nam Ton are generally along the Ping River, particularly around the Chang Klan Road and Charoenprathet Road areas, for their river proximity and access to local life.

Chang Klan Road is well-known for its night bazaar, which comes alive in the evenings with stalls selling local crafts, clothing, and street food. During the day, it's a bustling area with plenty of shops and restaurants. It's a convenient spot for visitors who enjoy being in the midst of activity and having a wide range of dining and shopping options right on their doorstep.

For those seeking a slightly more relaxed environment with river views, the Charoenprathet Road area offers a good balance. It's just a short walk from the night bazaar but feels a little more spread out, with many hotels offering pleasant views of the Ping River. Couples often find this area appealing for its romantic setting and the opportunity for riverside dining.

The best time to visit Ban Nam Ton is during the cool, dry season, which runs from November to February. This period offers the most comfortable weather for exploring the region.

During these months, you can expect pleasant temperatures, typically ranging from 20°C to 30°C, with low humidity and clear skies. This makes it ideal for outdoor activities like hiking through the surrounding hills and rice paddies, or enjoying the local markets without the intense heat or heavy rainfall of other seasons.

For those planning to explore the nearby Doi Inthanon National Park, the cool season is particularly advantageous. The cooler temperatures make the treks to waterfalls and the highest peak in Thailand much more enjoyable. It's also a good time for birdwatching, as many species are active.
