You need to head 10 miles north from Arie-machi to arrive in Shimabara. There's plenty to do there, such as Nehan-zō, Shimabara Church and Honkoji Temple. Don't head back until you've also explored Shimabaraonsen Yutoroginoyu and Ariakenomori Flowerpark.
