A Solid Choice for a Trip with Friends Hotel Avándaro is a good option, and it also works well for a getaway with friends. The property is very well maintained — it’s not the most modern hotel out there, but it has a charm and quality that hold up nicely over time. The atmosphere is calm and quiet, which makes sense given that it’s primarily geared toward families. The bar at night is practically empty, so don’t expect a lively scene — but if you’re looking to unwind, that can actually be a plus. The grounds are great for walking, and the food is fresh, healthy, and genuinely enjoyable. A few things to note: the pool was a bit cold for the season despite being heated, and the fitness classes at the gym tend to get crowded, so we ended up going to another hotel for the spa experience. We also had a citywide blackout during our stay, which left us without electricity or Wi-Fi for a while — not the hotel’s fault, but worth mentioning. On the bright side, the location is excellent — you can walk into the town center easily, which is great for exploring. All in all, a pleasant stay, and I’d happily come back with friends again.

Clean and as expected! Staff was polite and professional. The room was cozy and a/c super cold. It was on the very edge of Polanco but still very walkable and centrally located. My only complaint is that it took a bit of tries to figure out the hot and cold water in the shower but figured it out.

The Grand Hotel México City is an amazing place to stay. You just need to look up while inside and you will be wowed by the glass stained ceiling. Restaurant La Terraza offers an amazing view of the Zócalo and the good is delicious!

It was a very nice boutique hotel that was in the heart of the Polanco area. Very close and walking distance to the Anthropological Museum, upscale shopping, and great food. We didn’t have any trouble using Ubers from the location. Nice service from the staff, and came with water to drink daily at no charge. The room was very cute and the bathroom was gorgeous. However, the we were located on the first floor and there were a few nights where there were rude quests that decided to walk in at 1-2 am in the morning loud as can be. ( think drunk loud) and I was upset that the hotel didn’t have signs or the courage to mention something to the guests that their behavior wasn’t acceptable. I’m happy people are having fun, but be respectful to other guests. The walls are very thin. The bathroom, although beautiful, was a slip hazard anytime you used the shower. The water sprays EVERYWHERE and you can easily slip. I had to cover the floor with towels all around just in case. The continental breakfast was basic, just fruit and a pastry. Overall, a 4 out of 5.
