An outdoor saltwater pool and poolside lounge host complimentary weekly "dive-in" movies projected onto a 10-foot screen. Open for dinner nightly, the Restaurant at the Pearl serves California coastal cuisine with an emphasis on local and seasonal ingredients. Weeknight happy hours attract a lively crowd, and 2 poolside cabanas can be reserved for dining.

“renovated motel with bohemian energy”
Cute little hotel - helpful staff - not near any beaches - however, a marina is just a block away along with many restaurants - probably would not stay here again as necessary to drive to beaches and also not within walking distance to light rail - very comfortable room

“Trendy theme, picturesque setting combined with great customer service”
Great vision transformed this antequated motel/hotel into one of San Diego's trendiest destinations. Attention to detail highlighted my experience from the movie screen suspended above the pool, to the amazing lounge/restaurant and concluding with the signature fish bowl (with a living fish!) The service was impeccable with a hip but not pretentious San Diego spirit. I highly recommend this hotel.

Amazing! Beautiful space. Beautiful staff. Beautiful hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The kitchen is fantastic, both in food quality and presentation. The room was attractive and well planned. The on site parking is limited, but there are plenty of spaces on the street. The staff is pleasant, welcoming and remarkably down to earth. Hands down a great hotel!
“Great Hotel even Better Service!”
The hotel was nice on the outside, but when you walked in, it was a different story... the ambiance and design of the hotel was great. I loved every area of the hotel. But what surpassed my expectations were the staff on hand and the Valet/Maintenance/Room Service guy who had helped out with all of our needs. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The Pearl is a very nice hotel with trendy design and a dive in cinema! The staff is very charming and they have a nice little bar.

Hotel very chic, very nice. The ONLY thing I did not care for was the street noise in room 17. It started early in the morning.
“Retradobable”
I loved this hotel! I needed a cheap and nice hotel for me and my parents that was conveniently located. This was totally ideal. You can't beat what you get for the price. You can stay in the gross Motel 6 down the street, sticky sheets included or you can stay a 3 star but feels liek 5 star hotel. Yes, there are a few cons. Parking kinda blows and it's on a really busy street with significant street noise. The only other bummer is that the restaurant is closed Sundays and has a limited menu Monday. Of course, those were the two days we stayed. We did eat dinner there on Monday and for what we had, it was delicous. Even with these few cons, I would absolutely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone who asked. They have betas in each room. I mean, c'mon! That's so cute!
