“Disappointing”
I should've read the more negative reviews a little more carefully. After my stay, I went back to read them and each and every one was true. This was basically a run down motel in an average part of town that was simply re-decorated in a 70's vintage decor. It was by no means "renovated", just re-decorated. We went with the "Strand" room in an attempt to upgrade from the smaller "Jewel" room and I thought they'd made a mistake and put us in the Jewel. The Strand room was tiny, I can't imagine how small the Jewel was. The fisheye photos are amazingly deceptive as to how small the rooms are. The coolers in the rooms are horribly loud, the "closet" is simply a mounted horizontal pole with a curtain to hide it. The "sitting area" is just a chair in front of that curtain. The pool area is far from glamorous as it looks like a low rent apartment housing pool area. Little to no pool lounging space. For the money, it's "good enough". But the description and photographs are very deceptive and misleading. I will not be staying here again or recommending it.
“Pictures are misleading”
located in a tough spot to find parking. they have only 10 spots. It's an old motel turned into a new motel. rooms are same, but different furnishings. they gave me a room just off the bar; could not standing it and asked to be refunded and checked out within 10 minutes. Probably a better place to have a drink at happy hour than to spend the night.
“They need to double check their rooms”
This place was really cute and I loved the fact that it had a bar. When I walked into the room, the brown sheets looked dirty. They did not have an extra room to moove us to, so all that they did was remove the brown sheets. So if the question is if I would go back.... no I wouldn't. I've been there once and thats enough.
“Tiny Room and No Parking”
The lady at the front was helpful by providing directions. There are very few parking spots at the front of the hotel, about four. They told us we would have to pay extra for parking or street park. Our room was small and the advertised fancy radio was not working in our room. The room was also very hot even with the air conditioner working extra. The pearl looks like a nice place with the pool and the hang out style vibe of the small restaurant but check in somewhere cheap that includes parking and drive to visit. Bottom line: Go somewhere else for sure.
“Best for couples”
I liked it, just better for couples!!!
“fun, awesome hotel!”
The Pearl was an awesome place for my friends and I to get away for a few days. The pool is filled with beach balls and the bar has a lounge area where you can sit, drink, and play board games. The rooms are very beachy and comfortable. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful! I would definitely come back. My only complaint is that although it's surrounded by plenty of fast food restaurants, we did have to drive to get anywhere worth seeing.
“Retradobable”
I loved this hotel! I needed a cheap and nice hotel for me and my parents that was conveniently located. This was totally ideal. You can't beat what you get for the price. You can stay in the gross Motel 6 down the street, sticky sheets included or you can stay a 3 star but feels liek 5 star hotel. Yes, there are a few cons. Parking kinda blows and it's on a really busy street with significant street noise. The only other bummer is that the restaurant is closed Sundays and has a limited menu Monday. Of course, those were the two days we stayed. We did eat dinner there on Monday and for what we had, it was delicous. Even with these few cons, I would absolutely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone who asked. They have betas in each room. I mean, c'mon! That's so cute!
“Great except for one problem”
The service was great (very nice and efficent staff). The free appetizer was delicious. The price was right. The room was a little small compared to other places, but for the money and 1 person it was fine. My only reason I will not return is that the room I have was over the bar and as all of the rooms, adjacent to the pool. The first night the bar and the outdoor movie they show on the giant screen at the pool went over by 9:30pm. The second night the movie ran till a little after 10pm (10:15?), too late for me when I had to get up at 5am for training in town at 7am.
“bad service”
We have been there for two days and it was totally nightmare. This place has a parking problem. We paid more for the option that includes the parking fee however we could not park and we had to park on the street. Although they told us that they are going to refund the money for the parking, they said that we have to resolve this issue with Expedia which was a totally ridiculous response. We were not informed about the kitchen hours for Sunday and we learned that it was closed when we wanted to have our complimentary appetizer and drinks. They refunded 25 dollars for that. Our room was just across the bar and there were a lot of noise in the mornings. Price/performance is really high, I am definitely not recommending this hotel.
“renovated motel with bohemian energy”
Cute little hotel - helpful staff - not near any beaches - however, a marina is just a block away along with many restaurants - probably would not stay here again as necessary to drive to beaches and also not within walking distance to light rail - very comfortable room
