“I would go again”

On the edge of downtown- walking distance to Symphony Hall!! Only a few blocks away from theaters and restaurants. Not much right around the hotel for fun but close to things.

“Great please to stay on a budget”

After reading all the reviews, I felt comfortable with my decision to stay at the Holiday Inn Express. The room were big, the beds were very comfortable. The bathrooms were a little small but other than that, the room was excellent. The breakfast was GREAT! Bacon one day sausage the next. Pancakes, yogurt, eggs... They had pretty much what you would find at a Denny's or a Coco's. Everything was fresh the beverage selection was wonderful. The location was perfect, close to everything and easy to get to and from the hotel. The parking structure was pretty tight and I was amazed to see big trucks in the structure. I would definitely stay there again, no doubt.

Area recommendations

Gaslamp was wonderful. The casino's and shopping are nearby. Also the swapmeet in San Diego.

“San Diego Weekend”

Good location near Balboa Park and Gaslamp District. Near Little Italy- Good breakfast, Great shuttle service

“A disaster”

“ok fo rbudget”

The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was clean. However, the vending and ice machines right outside the door were disturbing and we had a view of a parking lot. Breakfast was adequate and I think we got a good value for the money.

“Very good hotel.”

The shuttle and shuttle drivers were great!! I like the option of having a free breakfast buffet; however, I think that the menu could be changed more often. There were some days when neither sausage or bacon were served. Yet, sausage gravy was offered every day. I would have liked to utilize the pancake machine more often, but I don't eat pancakes without meat.

Getting around

I found that the city trolley and buses were convenient and fast. I only had to rent a car one day. However, be careful. Sometimes your trolley will go out of service suddenly and then you have to figure out what trolley to catch next. But, the major trolley stops have transit officers to assist you in getting directions.

Good hotel service and hotel location, convenience to go to the 5th and 6th Streat buiness area and the Convention Center.
