“The Only Good Thing About San Diego”
It was the only good thing about San Diego. A town lingering with angry bums and drug addled adults. And this is coming from a born and raised New Yorker! The staff was extremely attentive, sweet and useful. The room was nicely furnished, a bit small for a group of 3. Clean, refreshing and comfortable otherwise. The only downside was the steep steep price of the valet. 28 a night. OUCH. But in a town where there is NO parking ( seriously, none) they can charge whatever price they choose.. When visiting San Diego again ( hopefully never ) I will absolutely stay in the Sofia. I recommend you do so as well.
“Great Hotel”
Very clean, great staff, great location. Will stay there again.
“Sofia is GREAT!”
The Sofia was wonderful in so many ways!
“San Deigo Gem”
Very nice place for gas lamp district, walking distance to all top resturants, great.
“Loved this hotel”
I came upon The Sophia Hotel completely by what Expedia picked for my trip to San Diego. I was not disappointed. What I didn't know was The Sophia Hotel was formerly a Pickwick Hotel that had been remodeled. I loved the combination of old and new. My room was small but cozy. The bed was so comfortable. The staff in the lobby were great. Easy to use free WiFi in the lobby. The Sophia Hotel is within walking distance to Gaslamp Quarter.
“My favorite hotel ever and I love hotels!!!”
Everything was fabulous and unique. I loved the empty refrigerator and little microwave. I can't wait to go back and would definetly recommend The Sophia highly.
“Great central position”
Lovely ambience. Worried when staff couldnt locate booking but they were very helpful and gave us an excellent corner room. Saturday walking tour was a real bonus. Walkers could get to most places and bus went past the door. Shopping center and convenience store close.A lucky find and good price.
“Exceeded my expectations!”
Great location; conveniently close to the convention center (~ 6blocks) and the gaslamp district. The rooms may be smaller than average but are very comfortable and in great condition. Very satisfied with the hotel service provided.
“Great San Diego Stay”
Great central location, good for public transit (no need for a car). Friendly staff, allowed to check in early. Adjoining cafe/bar very good.
“Great atmosphere, perfect location”
This hotel is in the perfect location. There are tons of great restaurants close by and Horton Plaza is only two short blocks away. Petco Park is about 10 blocks, but takes less than 10 minutes to walk and there are a lot of good bars and restaurants in-between.
