Woodcliff Hotel and Spa

"Very happy."
We don't often find ourselves at luxury hotels, but we do have standards and taste, and found the Woodcliff luxurious, yet unpretentious. Some negative reviews here seem to be people looking for nit-picky things to complain about. We found the room quite clean and comfortable, and the view from the fifth floor wonderful. The Woodcliff sits on a hill facing generally west, although there are views in all directions, and has great views from every side of the surrounding treed landscapes. The indoor and outdoor pools were a nice treat, and the sauna also enjoyable. Rooms were fairly quiet, though a busload of people pulled in at midnight and for some reason our neighbors felt compelled to shout at each other even when they were in the same room, not to mention the halls. They got up again at 6:30 am and finally at 7 I knocked on their door and said, "Too loud!" since they didn't seem to know much English. (They did quiet down.) Anyway, this was not really the hotel's fault, just happenstance. We actually live in the area, but wanted to treat ourselves to a special night out before summer ended. Our very favorite part was Horizons restaurant, where we both had one of the best dinners we can remember, at a reasonable price. It was a brief but memorable stay. We will be back.

"Nice to spend the night with my girlfriend alone."
We got to spend the night together without disturb our time together. We did whatever we want to in the room where they gave us. The best night we ever had in our life. We would like to spent 2 week or less to stay in this hotel.

"Excellant price for reasonable room"
very reasonable price for a clean, well-equipped room. Quiet, decent restaurant downstairs, close to I-490 and in downtown. Free wi-fi.

"The hotel is great but the restaurant is terrible."
I wish the food in the restaurant was better. Wanted a nice sit down diner and choices were poor and seats were uncomfortable. Felt like it was made for bar food only. Ended up going out for dinner the second night. Bar also is expensive and closes early.

"So much fun!"
Thanks to Dan and the front of house staff for being so good-humoured and accommodating. Seriously: we struck up a rapport as we arrived and they checked in on us regularly throughout our stay. Great stuff.

"Family visit"
We loved the location and ease of getting where we needed to go each day. The breakfast selection was better than expected. The room size was just what we needed when our son and grandson spent time with us. We will stay here again when visiting our family.

Close to the interstate, the lake and the stadium. The pillows were too soft for our comfort. Everything else was great.

LOVED the old charm and character of the hotel, it was everything we had hoped it would be from seeing the pics online....dinner was AMAZING...and I am a chef myself, so we are very particular and really know good food! Staff was professional, friendly and more than was excellent and super clean. We will definately come back and tell friends about our experience!
