“Great location downtown!”
Good apartment hotel at a great price !!!! All the comforts of home and very spacious. We had a two bedroom suite on the sixth floor and a nice view of Ottawa. Close to Parliament Hill, Byward Market and the Rideau Centre. The Christmas lights display was spectaculer.
“Great Value”
Stayed for 2 nights from Nov. 10 to Nov. 12. Nice convinient underground parking for $21.00 a night. Fast free wi-fi. Large outdated suite, but still nice and clean. Would return again. BB & SF
“It works”
This hotel met our basic needs and was in the location we needed to be. For the most part the room was clean except for some hairs found in our shower from the previous occupant. The hotel staff was friendly enough but could have provided better instruction in terms of the underground parking which was very poorly layed out, lit and labelled. I felt the price should have been better given the amenities and off season.
“Nothing fancy - but it meets your needs”
TV wasn't working first night. But generally an adequate hotel. Front desk staff very helpful. Numerous restaurants in area so convenient from that perspective and also close to downtown business area.
“will be back again”
We found the hotel to be well situated, comfortable, roomy and with all we needed in the kitchen for meal preparation. Lots of eateries within walking distance, easy walk to parliament hill, the Rideau Canal and the Market. Easy drive to most museums, etc. Parking was a bit expensive but convenient. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We'll definitely be returnig to this hotel.
“Close to Elgin Street”
This is a clean 70's style suite hotel; they still use key locks. Very friendly staff; chairs and sofa were not very comfortable, beds were OK. Plenty of dishes, etc. for longer stays. Great bar nearby and close to wine stores, convenience store and two bakeries on Elgin Street. Within easy walking distance to Spark Street, Hop-on and Hop-off bus kiosk and Parliament buildings, All the rooms appear to have a balconey- ours did. Very good value for price.
“Mediocre Hotel”
Pretty satisfactory. The room seemed more like one of those apartment style rooms that one would live in for a short period, Came with cutlery and what not. Overall, it was a pretty nice place. Nothing bad to stay.
“great location”
Old building but clean. Nice to have a roomy suite with separate bedroom. Super location and fun to be in the Elgin street area with so many restaurants.
“Good value in a great location”
We recently stayed at Cartier for my friends wedding. The one bedroom suite was clean and spacious. The hotel is a bit dated, but was good value for the price. The bed was comfortable enough for us, but think Comfort Inn not Sheraton. The hotel is in a great location - 5-10 minutes walk to downtown. One big negative is the restaurant. Although the food and prices were okay, the service was terrible. On weekends the restaurant doesn't open until 9:00am. I would recommend Dunn's which is within sight of the hotel on Elgin just north of Cooper. If you are staying over the weekend in the warmer months, I would also recommend seeking a free parking spot on the street instead of forking over $21/night for the underground. Overall, I would stay again, especially for a longer stay where the kitchen is a big perk.
“Nice place to stay”
I stayed in this hotel already twice. It's a comfort appartment suite away from home. The location is just perfect. A superstore a few blocks away on Bank street is handy.
