“I have recommended this hotel to friends and relatives. Would definately stay here again.”

The suites were spacious and very well laid out. The kitchen was well equipped and very clean. We found all the staff, desk clerks, room service and manager to be extremely friendly and professional. The location of this hotel was excellent for sightseeing, restaurants and shopping. Nearly everything we wanted to do was within walking distance.

When to go

Ottawa is a busy place so going at the end of October definately had it's advantages. Not as many tourists and more time to take in the sights and historical buildings

Getting around

Staying at a hotel within walking distance of Capital Hill was a huge advantage. We discovered great places to eat, shop and explore on our short hikes to the Hill.

Must see

The Mint was extremely interesting and we had a very informative guide. It was quite something to actually pick up a gold bar. The tour of the Parliament Buildings was well worth the visit. Allow extra time to wonder around on your own after the guided tour. Nice walkiing path round the Hill with interesting monuments, statues and vistas to see.

“First time visit and very satisifed”

Besides the age of the fold out couch and that it "sank in" abit, thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Les Suites and would stay there again :-)

“Good Hotel”

The room was very spacious for 4 adults, or even a family. They have done updates to the hotel, could use a few in the bedrooms. Staff was friendly, and the view was nice.

“Great location. Easy walking distance to everything.”

Stayed in a Premier 2 bed/2 bath suite. 3 of us. Would have been nice if 2nd bedroom also had a TV. Master bedroom had large walk through closet to bathroom. Very comfortable beds. Small but adequate bathrooms. Large living/dining area with balcony. Balcony does not have any furniture for sitting. Usually a 3-5 min wait for elevators. Sometimes longer. Did not use pool or gym so can't comment. All in all a very comfortable hotel in a great downtown location. Would definitely stay here again.

“Pleasant place to stay on Ottawa”

The hotel is clean and well furnished, it's close to all the attractions in the downtown of Ottawa. If I plan to go to Ottawa again, I'll surely chose it again.

“It felt like a dormitory apartment”

The odor of cleaners/perfumes was overwhelming--3 days of open windows did not help clear the smell. The photographs and descriptions paint a much nicer picture than the units are. The apartment we were in was very worn--carpets, furniture. We were in a deluxe--I think the bedcoverings were new- otherwise I am not sure why it was a deluxe. It was serviceable.

“excellant location”

the hotel was great location and place to relax. We could walk a block and be on a happening street and 3 blocks from parlament hill and f2 blocks from a grocery store etc.

“Will return...but better prepared 2nd time around...this non smoking hotel stinks - literally”

The location of this hotel is walking distance to Ottawa U and downtown Rideau Centre and Byward market and restaurant district . The front desk staff were amazing. We were worried about parking with an overhead storage on our vehicle - no problem...we parked out front (it was expensive mind you but great peace of mind). DO NOT stay on the 2 or 3 floors - they are tired, dingy, non smoking but wreaks of stale cigarette smoke that probably dates back to the 80s...I am convinced on line prepaid bookings get the bottom of the barrell room assignments. What changed our impression is that the front desk staff paid attention to our complaint and upgraded us to a newly renovated suite the next morning. We will be back again and again - just will make sure we call the hotel after prebooking to get a renovated suite.

Area recommendations

Byward market and rideau centre for evening and site seeing - we came to Ottawa to be as close to University of Ottawa as possible - and we were. There are a lot of homeless people in this area of downtown and there is a homeless shelter right across the street - but we still felt very safe - there are police everywhere

Be sure to request a newly renovated room above the 3rd floor = the 2nd and 3rd floors are very disappointing even though they are huge.

“Great location!”

As already noted by some reviewers, the rooms are noisy particularly on the side facing Besserer. And a lot of the furniture in our suite has a layer of dust on it. But the location is fantastic and we would stay there again.
