"Nice hotel close to University"
We needed a hotel room for 2 adults and 2 teens. This was one hotel that offered two queen beds. Two fulls are hardly large enough. Our hotel was walking distance from the university and the city. All employees we encountered, reservation desk, valets, and cleaning service, were extremely friendly and informative. We stayed Friday evening.

"Beautiful, historic and well-located"
We had a wonderful four-night stay at the Driskill. Prices were comparable to other large hotels in Austin but the location and ambiance of the Driskill really put it a cut above in my opinion. The staff are welcoming, helpful and friendly. The only negative was the amount of construction noise in the lobby. It was really unpleasant and meant that I couldn't sit in the lobby in the mornings with my tea. It was even loud all the way into the bar area. I am sure they'll finish the work soon and then it will be a pleasure to sit in their beautiful lobby.

"Great Hotel in Downtown Austin"
I visited Austin with a friend for a long weekend. The hotel was very nice and clean. The staff was very polite and helpful as well. We have done a bit of research on things to do while visiting but asked the concierge advice on travel routes, restaurants advice and other local spots multiple times and they were very eager to offer their advice. We had requested 2 doubles but only had a room with a king and pullout when we checked in, but offered to and did move us to another room which was available the next time which was fine with us. The pool area was recently redone from what we were told and very nice.

"Not a happy Camper"
When we decided to go swimming I decided to put my jewlery some where so if anybody went into the room it could not be found. I decided that the best place to put it would be in the pillow case. So after we came back I took out my jewlery by accident I forgot my necklace it's not that it's an expensive piece but hs more sentimental values than anything eles The next morning we left.. So when I discovered I was missing it I call the hotel. They said that they would talk with the cleaning lady and call me back. Well I guess they were to busy to call me back. I call them again the following day. I asked if they had found my necklace and the manger said no. I told her that I was expecting a call back and she said she guess her personal was to busy to call me back. But as we would all assume they didnt return the necklace . She said they didnt find it . Why am I so suprise. So let this be a lesson to me and others never travel with jewlery they dont have safes to put them in so you have to find your own way to hid items such as these. Hopefully the person that finds it wears it in good faith...
