"Luxurious and quaint resort"
This resort was wonderful! In the summer time, the hiking trails are magnificent and challenging for beginners like us. I would highly recommend this resort for anyone planning to travel to Alaska. It is in a small town and vastly different from Anchorage, just an hour outside of Girdwood. If traveling, Chugach Adventures are great to book your adventure through.

"good location. walking distance to everything "
Beautiful hotel. The breakfast cafe closed early. 11:30am so if you are not an early riser, forget breakfast, Lunch or dinner. They did have another bar type restaurant though. Great Lemon drops.

"Excellent location for catching the train"
This was a very short stay as we caught a very early train in the morning and chose the hotel due to its proximity to the station. It was walking distance but the hotel had a shuttle on hand to help with bags.(they also had a free shuttle from the airport). Room was clean and comfortable and appeared to have been recently refurbished. There is a creek running behind the hotel and people salmon fishing there added to the Alaskan "flavor". No restaurant in the hotel, though a nice breakfast is included in the room rate. There are some good places to eat close by. The trains blow their whistles as they pass through the station at night which is a little bit noisy but only happened a couple of times. Free wifi.

"Excellent location, "
Stayed one night on my way to a vacation outside of Anchorage. The hotel was in the midst of a name change and some remodeling but neither were any inconvenience. Shuttle and van drivers went out of their way to get me places during my short stay. Would certainly recommend to anyone. Good place!

"Downunder Guests"
This is an older hotel which has tried to apply a face lift with some bathroom renovations. However the remainder of the decor is still old and tired. Breakfast is OK. Close to a good eatery - Gwennie's which has excellent steak meals.

"Great Quad room for family"
The hotel location is perfect, 2 blocks from the ocean, and several blocks to the busy downtown center. The room is spacious. It only has one king-size bed when we arrived the hotel. Once the staff added two roll-out beds, the room became a comfortable quad room. Parking is free on weekend, $15 for weekdays. The continental breakfast is decent. It has hams, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, potatoes, pan cakes, three types of cereals, Greek yogurt, etc.

"Pretty good for Anchorage"
The hotel is a good location. The room was good. The restaurants have a down time where there wasn't a place to just have a beer or something from 3-5, kind of weird. The front staff wasn't that fantastic. The room was great though and clean. We had just run the marathon and that was the main thing we needd.

"Convenient to airport with some nice amenities"
The hotel is a bit difficult to access until you get to know the road patterns in the are; however, the room was lovely, the breakfast was fine, and the check-in/check-out was a breeze.
