"Nice hotel"
The hotel is great. They are doing some much needed renovations to some of the rooms so we got moved to a different room than we booked. It does need to be redone to be worth the cost. The amenities were the best. We definitely enjoyed our stay.

Clean and very easy to downtown. Shuttle will take you anywhere you want to go. Easy walk to train station and downtown. Shuttle runs every 30 min, at least. Will take you downtown or elsewhere between trips to airport.

"Great Location"
The Hotel is located right downtown. Although it is called Historic, there isn't any of the charm from other historic hotels. It lack charm but is nevertheless a good place to stay. On-street parking is possible but check the signs.

"Met our needs, convenient, clean, safe and friendl"
We were welcomed at the door by Georgina. She had us settled and oriented quickly and efficiently. It's friendly. The location is great. An older place with nice updates. We were on the ground floor and unable to leave our windows open so we found it stuffy-otherwise a great choice of accommodation

"Great Alaskan Getaway; Stay away from restaurant"
Hotel was everything expected. Very beautiful scenery. Wildlife abundant. Close to Anchorage and the Kenai peninsula sites. Room decor was a little tired/worn. Hotel staff was great, helpful. Tram conductor was very friendly. I would never visit the Seven Glacier restaurant again. Staff was rude and rather snobby. There were very few people at the restaurant the night we were there, yet they made us wait 15 minutes for a table. Open tables were everywhere. The seafood was "ok", but we've had better dishes at restaurants that were not supposedly 4 diamond. The steak was a huge disappointment. If you've ever had a good steak in New York, Chicago or the Midwest, do NOT get one here! For how expensive the restaurant was, we would have expected much much better.

"Ask about parking "
I guess there's hotel parking at a discounted rate. I had to pay $25 not knowing there was cheaper parking for the hotel. Ask about it before you arrive so you know where to park for less. Excellent hotel. Clean rooms, hearty delicious breakfast. excellent deal considering we went during the summer season. They give you access to the captain cook gym across the street. I will definitely stay again!

"Close to downtown museum "
My room was nice. The staff was great and very helpful. I am not a fan of the 10$ a night parking I found that ridiculous especially since the parking behind the building was always full and so u had to use there extra parking lot a little ways Down and the parking price was still the same. I loved that it had a real fridge and small 2 burner cook stove a a real sink to wash dishes. And such. The mattress was pretty firm but bedding was very clean. Over all if was not to bad. Better than some I've stayed at.

"Nice room. BIG bed."
It was a nice room. Me and my friend had enough space to move. The king bed was big which was very nice! We also had a small kitchen in our rom which was very good because we were able to prepare our own food. The room was clean, some spots at the walls though. But the rooms were renovated and they looked very modern! With bus no. 2 it is 15 minutes to get into Downtown Anchorage. Very nice! Buses have their own schedule, were very late sometimes. I would definitely recommend this hotel because it was a nice room. There was missing a dresser, we had to leave our clothes in our luggage, which was fine with us, though. The hotel has a bus shuttle. We weren't able to use it because we weren't able to call the shuttle because the phone number didn't really worked so we weren't able to reach the front desk. At our way back home the shuttle was not available. The shuttle is only available from 8 am- 8 pm.
