Great hotel, close to restaurants and venues

Reception staff were friendly and helpful and the accommodation was spacious enough for the four of us.

We loved this hotel. It is a boutique property with unique and lovely styling. The surrounding area is postcard perfect! It is situated on a canal street and is an easy walk to almost anywhere. For longer distances, the tram (which is easy to use - just tap your cc when you get on and when you get off) is only a few blocks away. There are restaurants and shopping in the immediate area. In the area are the Negen Straatjes shopping area, the Anne Frank House (make advance reservations), markets, easy walk to Dam Square and just about anywhere. There also is a Jumbo market across the canal. The hotel offers guests a happy hour from 4-6 each day with drinks and snacks free of charge. The staff is lovely. Our room was large, comfortable and had windows that opened. There is AC and heat. There is no elevator. As is common in most buildings in Amsterdam, most of the stairs are narrow and steep. This can be a challenge for those with mobility issues and for those who bring heavy luggage. This situation is common in Amsterdam, even in restaurants, so don't be surprised. We would happily stay here again.

But we were told breakfast was included in our reservation and that is why we chose to eat it and when we left, we were hit with a large bill for breakfast and told that it was not included. It wasn’t worth the price of breakfast, we would not have had it if we had not been told it was included in our stay. Rooms did not have any fridges or coffee. We also recharged with extra city tax when we checked out.

Clean. Ideally located. Close to everything. Loved it.

Very nice location. Much larger hotel than I had expected, had multiple people for reception and even had concierge. Note that it does have various little stairs up and down to get to some of the rooms but it is the nature of having joined up so many houses to make the hotel. Has two restaurants, a full-service restaurant and then a smaller one which we ate at a few times. Definitely recommend it as a place to stay in Amsterdam.

This was hands down the nicest hotel I have ever stayed out.

Great room for families - sofa bed was not the comfiest though and room was a little tired. Rest of the hotel was great, breakfast was good too.
