Room was clean and was serviced every day! Breakfast was good. Only downfall of this place is that the staff was totally unhelpful to provide a late checkout. Something I asked for far in advance because our returning flight leaves passed 22h! At first I was told the late check out request was added to our reservation when I booked the room. When we checked in I asked again and they said to check on the day of departure. On the day of departure I stopped at the front desk early in the morning only to hear that no rooms were available and the hotel was fully booked. Somehow I was not believing this, went online and booked the same room for +350$ just to be able to stay in a little longer. I find it very disturbing to treat customers like this, wonder how this can be protocol from Hyatt or for that matter any hotel (because this nonsense isn't happening for the first time). We also had friends staying and they had the same issue. I have no clue why a late checkout is such a big deal.

We had a great time at teh Brix. The location is fantastic, with easy access to the Savannah, downtown, the avenue and multiple options to get east of Port-of-Spain. The staff was top-notch. The breakfast was always great and the pool was never too packed and was perfeect for relaxation on slower days. Would happily recommend to others.

They need a more very variety of breakfast for people who don’t eat pork have a substitute have something that you can choose for non-pork eaters

Family of Nine Left Stranded Outside in the Dark An extremely distressing experience. I booked Flowers of Joy Wellness Villa through Hotels.com for nine family members, including my elderly mother and four children aged 7–14. The host called on check-in day and I confirmed arrival between 5–6 pm. Check-in was advertised until 9 pm. At 6:06 pm, I WhatsApped to say we were almost there; the message was delivered. We arrived at 6:20 pm, but repeated calls went unanswered. At 6:24 pm, I messaged that we were at the gate. Again, the message was delivered. I continued calling until 6:43 pm with no response. As darkness fell, nine of us were stranded outside a locked compound. My elderly mother became distressed, while the children were tired and hungry. This was not simply poor service—it was now a serious safety concern. Hotels.com spent approximately 1 hour 40 minutes finding emergency accommodation for nine people on a Friday evening. Thankfully, Kapok Hotel accommodated us around 8 pm and was outstanding. The host finally called around 8:30 pm, stating his phone had died. Regardless, our arrival had been confirmed and we arrived within the advertised check-in period. I strongly caution families, particularly those travelling with children or elderly relatives. Huge thanks to Hotels.com and Kapok Hotel for coming to our rescue.
