Comfortable beds, better than expected overall

We love going to Massanutten, but… don’t waste money on the water park until they’ve finished renovating. Full price for half a park… obviously the outdoor portion is closed this time of year, but half of the indoor slides were closed, hot tub was closed as well and the price was not reduced during this time. Also, the activity schedule is more for “wine moms” to waste time while the husband is golfing. They don’t seem to offer much for the kids. The adventure park is “meh” and overpriced as well.

Had high expectations for this stay, first the good, staff, and I mean the single concierge on property was very kind, helpful and super courteous. Very nice young man.The main building has a nice early century feel dating back 300 years of history. Our complaint is with the room itself, it’s not well appointed, the bed sheets and pillows are OK but the bed is worn out and stiff ( you can feel the springs). I have the custom of rating cleanes buy the bathroom and must say that having black mold stains in the shower was the thing that made us most unhappy. There was also a small bug crawling around the ceiling. It wasn’t a terrible stay but definitely not worth the $275 rate. The place needs some serious TLC. We later found out it has new owners which recently bought the property and gave plans for renovations. My recommendation would be to do this first and then re open
