The property was excellent. However, the elevator doors close too quickly, and does not open automatically when trapped between the doors. A small child and my wife almost got trapped as the doors closed on them.

The room was very clean and the staff was very polite and friendly , the location is great, the hotel is about 7-10 mins to Parliament and 5 mins to Byward market. There are a lot of restaurants just walking distance to the hotel. The breakfast felt a bit on expensive side but there are a lot of options nearby. Overall 5/5 rating

Overall, this is an excellent property and nicely located. Cleanliness of the unit we stayed in could have been a bit better though. Cleanliness was generally good, but we found garbage under the sofa in the living room, including a plastic bottle cap, a cracker, an entire choc chip cookie and lots of dust. There was also mould in the shower floor grout. And what is it about hotel bathrooms? So many (including this one) have basin plugs that aren't properly connected to the popup drain assembly, obliging the guest to use their fingers to lift and/or insert the plug (ick!). The rain shower head leaks (a lot) from the side and should either be fixed or replaced. Despite these minor issues, though, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend SOHO Residences Lisgar to anyone planning a trip to Ottawa.

Front parking during check-in is too small. Cleanliness has dropped over the years, used to be much better. Elevator was filthy. Great location, great rooms with good amenities.

The character of the place is lovely. Restaurant is charming, great staff and food. Rooms are not big but they are immaculate and full of character.
