Beware! The place is as wonderfully stylish as the pictures suggest. But it was INFESTED with ants! They were crawling over every part of the apartment, not just the kitchen - the living room, the bedrooms (they were crawling all over the duvets), and in the master bedroom especially, where they swarmed across the floor. In the master bathroom there was a rotting wood plank by the shower - you had only to step on this for dozens of ants to come boiling out. We asked to be put in a different room, but they were sold out. Instead, they purchased bug spray from the grocery store next door and told us to leave the room for 4 hours while they doused the surfaces and had house cleaning come in. This was extremely inconvenient as we were travelling with tired children. When we returned to the flat, the ants were gone, but by the next morning they were starting their slow return. We asked to be compensated and were denied. We left early. Don’t be taken in by the gorgeous pictures. This was not sanitary. Would not recommend!

We truly enjoyed our staying in Pousada Alfama, this charming boutique hotel located right in walkable, the oldest, most atmospheric, vibrant and cultural districts. We are very impressed by this boutique hotel’s beauty, elegant design, warm inviting atmosphere, the cozy lovely garden, the healthy and delicious breakfast. Most of all we are very thankful to the exceptional, standout warm services we received. Staff members are ready to assist with any requests, whether it’s a bottle of my new found love liqueur in Portugal, or helping us navigate our way around the city. No words are adequately enough to express our heartfelt gratitude, especially to the marvellous, attentive manger Rita, the talented chef Joana, the lovely competent receptionist Caroline! And to all the other staff as well for delivering a personalized, intimate experience. Our visit in August in Lisbon is so so memorable and unforgettable!!

Phenomenal breakfast selection. Attentive staff. Rooms were spotless and made picture perfect every day. If I had to complain, which I don't often do, it was the 9 euro small draft beer at the pool bar. Not a fan.

What’s not to like? I’d stay there again. It has everything including location.
