Possibly the dreariest hotel in existence. We were given an accessible room without warning or explanation, which felt like a cross between an aircraft hangar and a prison cell. Someone appeared to have omitted to provide any useful furniture. No wardrobe, just a series of wall-hangers. One tiny table with one chair. The bathroom resembled something you'd expect to see in a hospital - do people with special needs not deserve any style or design? The room was decorated in drab colours, and the view out of the window really finished off the prison-cell feeling, with wire grates and only brick walls to be seen. The bed was quite comfortable but had strange dips in it as if someone had driven a tractor up and down the mattress. The rest of the hotel continued in the same theme. The foyer had 1940s toilet-block vibes, broken only by some random sofas which were so 'stylish' I can guarantee nobody could ever sit on them and get up again. It also smelled as if a large farm animal may have died recently in the close vicinity. We didn't interact with the staff except on arrival and departure; our arrival was greeted with apparent surprise and a lot of fumbling around, and departure only generated a small grunt as the key was handed over. We discovered in the morning that we had only been given one towel and, to their credit, the staff were very quick to respond. The final highlight was the card left in the room from the hotel owners, blowing their own trumpet. Pretentious clap-trap.

Great for walking around and visiting the sites and great food to be had within walking distance. Comfortable beds, and lovely lighting to set the mood.

I booked same day and got a room, it was nice and clean with friendly staff.

Nice property and helpful staff but not a five star property as the cost would indicate.

Previously stayed here when it was the Mercure. Rooms have been refreshed, as well as reception, bar and breakfast areas. Very conveniently situated, good breakfast. Room a bit hot, and couldn’t see any way to cool it, or open a window. Otherwise, a comfortable stay.
