Connacht Romantic Vacations

We really enjoyed our stay at The Twelve Hotel. Our family suite was perfect for our family of 4, with two separate bedrooms. The staff was very friendly and the hotel was really well decorated. We loved the bar downstairs and all the quirky touches.

This was by far the best hotel of our stay in Ireland! It was beautiful and right on the coast, with incredible views from every window. It was a quiet and peaceful retreat only minutes away from Galway.

Pros: excellent food all around, quiet, beautiful property, a few members of staff gave excellent service Cons: general lack of warmth, unwelcoming, about half the staff looked afraid I might ask for something and were very stiff, one used "it's our policy" in an interaction (quite unreasonable in context), there were many uncomfortable or unsatisfying interactions like that, generally very amateur service The room was spacious enough. Decor was bland but air con worked well. "Lake view" doesn't mean lake view -- it means you face the lake, which you can see if you squint -- it's a thin line in the distance. Some 5-star places are well worth it -- this is not one of those. I will not return. In fact, even if I had paid EUR200 per night, I would not come back.
