Portugal Romantic Vacations

We have just had a 3 night stay at the Hotel and it was lovely. When we arrived the reception staff were very friendly and gave us a brief tour, when our room was ready we were again escorted there by a member of reception. The room was a great size with a small patio area overlooking the lush gardens. We had dinner in the restauarant on our first night, which was excellent, service was impeccable. We used the bar a couple of times, loving the idea that we got to choose our "Happy Hour", we also ate in the Bar on 2 occasions and again the food was excellent. Breakfast was very good with a great slection of food. The Hotel is very traditional and has a lot of character, we will hopefully return one day and would recommend to anyone who would like to be within 15 mins of the centre of Funchal but still stay in a "little oasis".

The staff was very helpful, breakfast was amazing

Hotel was okay. Service was nonexistent. This is definitely not a 5 star experience hotel. Views were the best part of this hotel. Visited early October and it just felt off from check in to check out. Food was mediocre for the buffet dinner, wouldn’t really bother with it and stick with other restaurants surrounding the facility. Was a bummer because was expecting a lot more from the hotel. Ended up trying to stay away from the hotel itself for the entirety of the 4 day stay with my wife. I would look at other options if considering. Rooms were clean and balcony was nice although they were not quiet.

There is a lot of room for improvement; keeping an Expedia Platinum member waiting three hours for a room and not offering an upgrade even when one is available is not what one should expect from a hotel of this standard.

Great service and very comfortable room

Bon moment passé à cet hôtel. La nourriture excellente.
