The property was very clean.
Had everything required for our stay.
A taxi ride away from amenities. Uber was very efficient.
Only down side is the consistent barking at all hours of what I think is a nearby kennels. Along with 4:30am wake up calls by cockerels!!

If it’s your first time in Madeira I’d suggest staying somewhere in city center, it takes 15 mins to get to this hotel. Very nice property and amenities. The staff and service is weak , shortage of staff. The breakfast buffet for a 5 starvhotel and the price was so weak as weak.

Definitely a 5 star experience.
Everything is clean and well maintained. Well trained staff. The room is spacious and the bed and linens are top notch! the breakfast is superb!
The only thing that needs updating is the bath/shower. The pressure is fantastic but the drain can't keep up and the temperature is hard to regulate.
Restaurants: Brisa do Mar, excellent. I would skip Villa Cipriani, food was average.

If you want a hotel with a breathtaking view of Funchal, this is the place to be. The hotel people are very nice and accommodating. Note that on hot or summer days, you have to request for a table fan as there is no AC or fan in the room by default. There were some mosquitoes and fruit flys in the room but the staff sorted that out right away. The pool and clubhouse are great!
