Wow! Such an awesome spot! Beautiful grounds close to downtown and the harbor and easy to park. Beautiful lobby and overall building. Breakfast was awesome! An actual sit down full serve breakfast at a full size dining table!!! Unreal. You need to check this out!

Fabulous location in an historic building with view of the downtown harbour. No parking but staff provided a permit for on-road parking which worked well. Slight smell of cooking in main public areas. Air conditioning was a bit iffy, but then St John's is not a tropical destination so all was fine.

Disappointing experience for a hotel positioned as a higher-end spa property. Breakfast was poor quality with very limited options, room amenities were basic and not enough for the duration of our stay, the blinds did not adequately block the light, and the kitchenette was poorly equipped with one fork and a pan that wasn’t conduction. Restaurant staff were openly disciplined by a manager in front of guests, which was uncomfortable and unprofessional. The spa experience was particularly disappointing. I went to the spa intending to book treatments for both my husband and myself, walked through the facility and retail area, and was never acknowledged by the receptionist. I ultimately left without booking treatments or purchasing products. We were also called at 7:45 am. on Sunday and told to move our vehicle because construction was taking place, with no advance notice. The called did it say hello, didn’t apologize. Overall, the level of service and attention to the guest experience did not match our expectations for a spa hotel at this price point. The only positive point was the young lady that checked us in and checked us out. She was efficient and pleasant. She moved us for a few hours on Sunday morning as the tar fumes were coming into our room and they were painting directly outside our room door so we would not have been able to exit the room with our bags. The work being done was not urgent and was a planned activity so guests should have been notified in advance.

Very nice place, all renovated. Clean. Friendly staff. BUT WAY WAY TO EXPENSIVE FOR WHAT WE GET (continental breakfast with not enough of each item and no service for breakfast. At $350, and a name like « Castle », we would expect a bit more.

I've never stayed at a place so perfectly curated. I literally wanted to dwell there and soak in the ambience.
