The location was good

We have just had a 3 night stay at the Hotel and it was lovely. When we arrived the reception staff were very friendly and gave us a brief tour, when our room was ready we were again escorted there by a member of reception. The room was a great size with a small patio area overlooking the lush gardens. We had dinner in the restauarant on our first night, which was excellent, service was impeccable. We used the bar a couple of times, loving the idea that we got to choose our "Happy Hour", we also ate in the Bar on 2 occasions and again the food was excellent. Breakfast was very good with a great slection of food.The Hotel is very traditional and has a lot of character, we will hopefully return one day and would recommend to anyone who would like to be within 15 mins of the centre of Funchal but still stay in a "little oasis".

When we arrived the front desk staff were very friendly and welcoming. They provided recommendation at the hotel and nearby area and helped set up reservation for dinner that night at nearby Atlantis Restaurante. The room was clean and had a nice set up with lovely view and balcony overlooking pools and ocean. We enjoyed meals at Atlantis restaurante at sister property within walking distance and breakfast Buffett at Ondamar Buffet Restaurant. We also enjoyed the saltwater pool and swimming in the ocean right off the property. The staff, property, and amenities were all amazing and we wished we could have stayed longer to enjoy everything. Next time we hope to use the snorkeling onsite. We would hughly recommend to others and hope to stay again in the future.

It was nice but the gym is not a gym

Good location, nice rooms (a bit dark though), and great staff
