This hotel is truly horrible. I booked it after reading reviews for all the hotels in Nuuk. I learned that none of the hotels were universally praised, and none really had stellar reviews, but this hotel seemed to have the best ones overall. In particular, the sea view rooms at this hotel all had great reviews. So I booked a sea view room many months in advance, knowing it would cost extra. When I arrived at the hotel, I was given the key to a cemetery view room. I was downgraded. This has never happened to me internationally, and I've been to 37 countries. The view wasn't the issue, since walking around Nuuk you will see plenty of water. The real issue is that the room faced a major roadway, which meant constant traffic noise. This was highly disappointing, and unexpected. The room, which was only 150 square feet, was surprisingly unclean. There were loose hairs found throughout the room, on its floor and in the bathroom. I even found a nail clipping on the floor. I don't believe the rooms get regularly vacuumed. I brought up my disappointment for the downgrade to the front desk the very next morning. Not only did the front desk person not care, but I also got charged the full price for the sea view room! This was highly inappropriate. The customer service at this hotel truly bothered me. I wish I paid a little extra and stayed at the original Hotel Hans Egede, or better yet, Hotel Soma. The people who stayed there had no complaints. Avoid this place, if you can!
