Loved the historic building. This was a great place to stay in downtown. However, the parking was a bit confusing.

It was just ok. Maybe Pittsburgh needs to get a Ritz or Four Seasons.

9/10 Wonderful! (1,004 reviews)
We were only in town briefly for a concert, so we didn't have the chance to enjoy all of the hotel's amenities, but the customer service alone made this a five-star experience.
I had booked a room with two queen beds months in advance, but shortly before our stay I was notified that, due to hotel renovations, that room type was no longer available. Since I was traveling with a group of teenagers for a concert, having separate sleeping arrangements was important. To make matters even more stressful, I was dealing with this rebooking immediately after returning from a nightmare trip where our car had been stolen, so my stress level was already through the roof.
The Guest Services team could not have handled the situation any better. They were incredibly responsive, kind, and genuinely empathetic. They worked with me to find excellent alternative accommodations that met our needs, and when we arrived, they had left a bottle of wine and fresh cookies waiting in our room. It was such a thoughtful gesture and exactly the kind of kindness that makes a lasting impression.
While our stay was short, the level of care and professionalism we experienced was exceptional. Thank you to the Guest Services team (esp Katy Wolfe) for going above and beyond during a particularly stressful week. Your compassion and attention to detail did not go unnoticed.

9.2/10 Wonderful! (2,021 reviews)
The Omni William Penn relies heavily on its historic charm and beautiful lobby, but the guest experience falls far short of what I’d expect from a luxury hotel. While the common areas are impressive, the rooms are outdated and in desperate need of renovation.
I stayed here the night before my wedding, and it was one of the worst hotel stays I’ve ever had. My room was noisy, making it difficult to rest before such an important day. There wasn’t even complimentary bottled water in the room—a basic amenity offered by many hotels.
The food was equally disappointing. The shrimp tasted microwaved and anything but fresh. After eating it, I experienced diarrhea for two days. While I can’t say for certain what caused it, the timing was concerning. The soft pretzel was soggy, barely cooked, and drenched in what tasted like artificial garlic spread.
To make matters worse, the vending machine on my floor was broken. When I searched for another, parts of the hotel felt vacant and unsettling.
As an executive assistant, I regularly book accommodations for executives, board members, and VIP guests visiting Pittsburgh, and I frequently exchange recommendations with a large network of administrative professionals. Based on this experience, I will not recommend the Omni William Penn and will instead direct my organization and peers to hotels that better deliver the quality and service expected of a luxury property.
