From the moment we pulled up and our interaction with the kindness of valet staff, to hotel cleanliness, front desk professionalism and friendliness! The amenities were a great fit, including the no-restrictions for pets. The TV in the room may have been going out but hotel staff came to fix it and offered another room quickly, which I declined. It was a comfortable and pleasant experience.

Our stay at the Thompson was wonderful! We were given an upgrade to a suite which provided a beautiful view from its wall of windows. We had a sitting room and spacious bathroom that allowed my daughter and I plenty space for make up and hair. The music player allowed us to enjoy music from both of our Playlists at the same time which was a lot of fun. The hotel was close to all the hot spots we wanted to enjoy! It was a 10 out of 10 for us!!

Our stay at The Monarch San Antonio during the Day of the Dead parade weekend was disappointing, especially for the price. Check-in was painfully slow, with only one employee working despite the busy weekend. Dining was concerning because there was no allergen menu. With a serious tree nut allergy, simply being told food contains no nuts isn’t reassuring. Proper allergy precautions matter. At the bar, we waited 45 minutes while being repeatedly overlooked as guests arriving after us were served. While waiting in the lobby, I watched a manager greet guests and offer assistance, including people beside me, yet never acknowledge me. I had to approach him myself for water. When I later spoke with a manager about our experience, he was dismissive and simply said, “Just send me an email.” Not exactly the hospitality I expected. Housekeeping didn’t arrive until after 6 p.m. and left dirty dishes stacked around the room. I had to call to have them removed. The beds were comfortable, but the pillows weren’t. No extra blankets or pillows were provided. The shower stayed hot, but water pressure was weak. Despite being on a high floor, noise from bands and crowds was excessive. For this price, I expected better staffing, service, cleanliness, and attention to detail. Most disappointing was feeling repeatedly overlooked and dismissed. Luxury hospitality should make every guest feel equally valued.

Great centrally located place with full kitchenette. And, a great comedy club in the basement. Riot Club was so funny.

Only one elevator working all weekend which made it hard to get to/from your room. Room lights do not work well No covering over a window and it took 3 attempts to get it covered
