Had an amazing stay, the restaurant was delicious and the staff was friendly and very accommodating!

Definitely felt like I was stepping into late 90s luxury. The rooms need a refresher but the location and views are amazing. We will be returning again!

Everything was lovely. I enjoed this getaway for a few days to myself. I kept up my workout routine in the gym. The drinks were delicious and strong (3-5p) is happy hour so you get 30% off on top of the 10-15% discount you get if you're staying. Also, There's wine tasting on Wednesdays and that was awesome (I finished mine overlooking the ocean and sunset on my private balcony). The food is delicious here. Didn't care for the clam chowder too much, but the halibut and the roast on the plantain dish was delicious lol The only thing I was underwhelmed about was no room service and the spa's(jacuzzis) there onsite. But, Highly recommend and i'll be back.

When you first look at this place you think it is just a fancy motel 6 ... but then you look deeper and it really shines. The breakfasts were wonderful - kind of like American dim sum - small plates of lots of different types of breakfast. A couple of pieces of French toast, avocado toast bites, poached egg, fruit cup, etc. It really was way better than we ever expected. The rooms were nicely appointed. The only issue we had is that our room was right next to main walkway and we could hear when anyone walked by - which most of the time wasn't an issue, but every once in a while it sounded like someone was right in our room with us! They also have amazing made to order pizzas that you can savor outside by their many fire pits. It was chilly the one night we went out there and they had blankets for us and we were very cozy by the fire. Also you are right in downtown Carmel (wine tasting, great restaurants)!

I’ve been taking my wife here every year for the last 5 years or so and it’s our favorite place to go. When we first started coming here we were just dating, and as each year went by our relationship grew here at the sanctuary. We got engaged on the beach here and just this weekend we came here with our 8 month old daughter. Thank you sanctuary for all the memories.
