East Cheap Vacations

Cool old hotel. Facade in front is great, valet parking, door and elevator attendants. Nice bar/restaurant. Staff was great and let us check in an hour early. We did have a few issues, tho- the room had a distinct pencil-shavings BO smell. Maybe some previous guests were just smelly and sweaty, or maybe it’s just like any other historic building that has that residual smell of people being there for more than a century prior to the advent of solid antiperspirants. The other thing was that the TV didn’t turn on. Remote had batteries, but no TV. If it hadn’t been for those two things, I wouldn’t have an issue with the outside noise (not a street facing room) that was incessant through the day, along with the jet-engine AC in the room. We did not sleep well.

Beautiful property including the great staff, lovely pool and workout spaces but for our stay would have not preferred the more cozy ceiling height of the bedroom. We are not tall either. Perhaps a standard room for next season.

Great location and very friendly staff. There was a bit of a hiccup with the room when first checking in but the staff took action quickly and made it right.

This is the coolest hotel we have ever stayed at! They own the entire block with quick access to multiple eateries and games as well as easy access to the alley where there are restaurants, a winery, etc. You get a free churro during happy hour and tokens for drinks. There is an enormous amount of seating for reading and relaxation. I will absolutely stay here again if I ever return to Denver!

This year’s stay was sadly not very good. The staff member checking us in was very dismissive and rude. The room looked tired and worn but was very clean. The bed was comfortable.

This was a gorgeous hotel with rich history, well maintained, great location to walk downtown and great entertainment in the evening in the main foyer and bar. Rooms were spacious and clean.
