I chose Avenue of the Arts because my daughter lives in the Avenue of the Arts apartments, so we could visit each other without having to drive. The hotel truly lives up to its name—it has a wonderful artistic feel, and the decorations are beautiful. The location is extremely convenient, and self-parking is right next to the entrance. I didn’t get a chance to dine in the restaurants, so I can’t comment on those. The guest room was spacious, clean, and bright. The bed was a bit too soft for my preference. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and will definitely go back.

The Marriott’s advertisement on Expedia included a buffet breakfast along with free parking. Parking was available at no fee but breakfast was not. We asked at front desk but they said no.

I didn’t get a chance to dine in the restaurants, so I can’t comment on those. The guest room was spacious, clean, and bright. The bed was a bit too soft for my preference. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and will definitely go back.

Great stay, being right next to the freeway was noisy when outside but not an issue inside the room. Happy with my stay.

There are many issues with this hotel: 1. Minor but important: This is called a Hotel, but it is a Motel (room doors open to exterior walkways). Does not feel as secure and was much noisier than a real hotel. Plus you have to keep your window curtain closed all day otherwise everyone walking by looks right into your room. 2. More Important: my room smoke/fire detector had been removed from the ceiling and left empty. I believe this is a fire code violation for hotels, but regardless, it is a clear statement that the owners don’t care about their guests’ safety. 3. There were limited light options in the room, and the lamp between the two beds that was designed with two bulbs where each bulb served each bed (two separate switches) only had one bulb. Made it much less useful at bedtime. 4. My room had no ‘do not disturb’ sign. I asked the front desk and they could not find one anywhere. Promised to bring one by but never did. Not sure how this ‘hotel’ is rated so highly, because it does not compare to other 9.0 hotels.
