Lovely character hotel. Well located and opposite the beautiful Public Gardens. Friendly door staff and check-in. Nice attached retaurant. Rooms clean and well equipped. Well sized. Air conditioned.

Beware of 1st floor. Room was in a 2 level motel like wing of the ‘nice tower hotel’. Sliding door opened onto a shared ‘terrace’ which looked straight into the pool windows. We had to keep the curtains shut for people looking in. Dirty pool windows and broken tiles on the outside pool wall completed the view. We felt like we were in the basement. We requested to move rooms. Nothing available the first night. For the second night we were moved to the upper 1st floor section. Different angled view of the pool, still the motel section, small dirty balcony which barely fit 2 chairs facing each other. Very disappointing for the $897.38 price we paid for 2 nights. Never again!
Positives- Room was updated and clean.
Convenient location downtown Halifax. Short walk to the harbour.
