Great location within walking distance of Chinatown & darling Harbour. Lots of food & pub options everywhere. Rooms are very spacious.

Noisy rooms, with the noise of the pub getting into our room. Double glazing would help -- I expected more, given the tariff I paid. Note that you're coming here purely for the location. The hotel is nice, but it's not a bargain, nor even good value.

Potts Point is a great area to base yourselves in in Sydney and Spicers is a great "hotel" - actually, that's too impersonal, it feels more like a home away from home. The reception staff are interested and attentive, our room (No.8) was well provisioned and superclean, we were in walking distance of interesting local shops and restaurants, and a short Uber to the CBD. Thoroughly recommend.

It was my first visit to The Porter House and I was generally happy with my stay. I had asked for a room on a higher floor and away from the elevator, which they were able to accommodate. It was a lovely touch to see my name displayed on the TV when we entered the room, and a bottle of wine and a hand-written card. It's the little things that made the stay enjoyable. The check-in staff were also very lovely and helpful. I really appreciated them. Rooms: Spacious enough for 2 people. The bed was huge. I love the design and curation behind the decor of the room. The iPad controls were nice, such as automatic curtain openers and light controls. It would have been nice to have extra hooks in the room. I found it hard to find places to hang my towel, robe and bags. Coffee machine was a convenient addition to the room. Cleanliness: Given that I had paid almost $400 per night, I think there should have been extra attention to detail in the cleaning. There were a few crumbs in between the armchairs. It would have been nice for house keeping to vacuum the room more thoroughly as some times, there would be hair left behind. Would also be good to clean the shower grouts every once in a while. Other: One thing that was a bit annoying was the signal. My mum wasn't able to get signal while inside the room, and the TV kept freezing. There were also a lot of older shows on so the options on TV seemed a bit limited.

Loved the modern art deco rooms. Mini bar was complimentary with snacks and non alcoholic drinks. Staff were very friendly. Has a beautiful rooftop bar (Monica) and Palermo restaurant on ground floor. Would highly recommend

Breakfast and Dinner were fantastic

Absolutely loved my stay here. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, the location is fantastic, and the whole place has a really fun, stylish vibe. Breakfast being included is a great touch, with plenty of options — I grabbed mine to go, which was super convenient. The complimentary minibar is also a standout, with water, soft drinks and snacks included. The rooms are on the smaller side, so larger suitcases can be a bit of a squeeze for longer stays, but everything is thoughtfully designed and very comfortable. Overall, a fantastic experience — I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

Rooms were immaculate and it was such a beautiful hotel, a very calm vibe.
