I have stayed in Kauai many times. This was the best place I’ve stayed. It was within walking distance to the beach and restaurants. I also love the fact you could use the gym across the street. I will definitely stay again. Very pleased with the overall complex

The Grand Hyatt Kauai is an excellent pick for this island. It is a beautiful hotel right by the beach and has several great pools, a lazy river, a waterslide and a saltwater lagoon. The hotel staff was very friendly. The spa was beautiful as well. The hotel may get crowded when the schools are on holidays because the hotel is kid-friendly but the week we were there, it was not too crowded nor too isolated. Just right. My favorite part of the hotel was the Seaview Terrace which is a café/restaurant with a beautiful ocean view and both indoor and outdoor seating. They had live music and a singer almost every night during dinner time. It was very enjoyable and a great experience.

Choose other resorts. The amenities for this resort are not worth the money. There is only one restaurant and its not open all the time. The beach is 1/2 mile walk. The beach is not just for this property but for many others. Staff is very friendly, but not much they can do about the issues.

The location is great. Right by the beach, centrally located to all the attractions. Pool and pool area are great too. The rest in my opinion falls short of the 4 star, $500+ per night (with all the taxes and fees) hotel. I would give it 3.75 stars but there is no such option. Some areas are dated. You can tell the hotel tries to maintain them by painting stuff over but it shows. For me the worst were supply and return grills for the A/C unit. Very dirty. We actually had been turning the A/C off as much as we could so we would not breathe in the dust!! Thankfully the wonderful ocean breeze helped :) Breakfast buffet is decent but it falls short of the Marriott's standards. Some more daily variety would be nice.

The rooms are only cleaned every 5th day. How every they changed this without notice. So we almost didn't get it cleaned. All the ice machine were broken. When you brought issues to the staff, the gave excuses not remedies. We have stayed here before and had went down hill tremedusly.

We really enjoyed our stay at Kauai Inn! The property itself is beautiful and peaceful, with lots of wildlife to keep you company. You will be greeted by many roosters, their resident cats, and even peacocks! The complimentary breakfast was as basic as it gets - bagels, croissants, cereal, fruit, coffee, and tea. There is free parking, a pool, live music on certain week nights, and movie night on Saturdays. They rent out snorkel gear and beach towels as well. It is located close to the airport and other local restaurants. Overall we would absolutely return here if we visit Kauai again!
