The property is in a great location and the staff is so helpful and friendly. Our room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. Wonderful AC blowing and enjoyed the beautiful pools. Will definitely stay here again.

For a 4 star hotel it’s quite run down and old. We stayed 3 days. The amenities are nice. We had an ant problem in our room which was gross, they came and cleaned it up and sprayed a bunch of chemicals. Wouldn’t stay here again!

Pestana Royal is a very outdated hotel. If you are looking for clean modern look that is not the place for you.
If you are looking for a place with high quality food that is not the right place. Food quality is very poor.
It is a very mediocre place with clean rooms and very mediocre food.

This is a very good hotel, well situated, comfortable generous rooms, relaxed hotel, lovely pool area and grounds, good options at the buffet, but missing a few nice to have eggs options (poached eggs, omelette).
The drinks are of decent quality, and the evening and dsy entertainment was top notch.
The restaurant experience was notably lacking personal service and lacked hospitality which seems to have changed since our last visit. Everyone else was courteous and professional and helpful with information or requests. The hotel has changed ownership and lost some local flavour and personality but it is a very comfortable stay while visiting the area.

Unfortunately we couldn’t enjoy the pool. Every time we went to use the pool, the only chairs available were reserved for the Ocean front rooms.

"We had a great experience at the hotel. The buffets and pools were excellent and our room was well maintained. We did experience an unpleasant smell from what we were told was the septic/plumbing and others in the area were said to be having similar issues due to climate."
