Clean room, great view of the city with the famous old Aqueduct.

We stayed at Alfagar Alto da Colina for my son’s birthday and really enjoyed our stay. We stayed in a superior room on the 4th floor with a partial sea view. The apartment was very spacious, clean and the kitchen was very well stocked. The breakfast buffet was good with plenty of choice, although tables were not always cleared quickly. One of the best things about the resort is that you can easily walk to the sister hotels and use their facilities too. We walked down to the beach one day which was lovely, although there is a bit of a climb back up. There is a Spar nearby when you turn left near the supermarket which is very well stocked and reasonably priced. There’s also a small café inside selling lovely cakes and coffee. If you walk right from the supermarket towards Santa Eulália, there are lots of restaurants and an Intermarché supermarket which is very reasonable too, although it is a bit of a walk so Uber can be easier. The hotel kindly gave my son a free drinks voucher for his birthday which he loved using for mocktails during our stay. The reception staff were very friendly and welcoming throughout. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this hotel for families.

Wonderful beach area, clean room, plus food choices.

Brilliant breakfast choice and all staff very friendly and helpful. Nice apartment which isn't far from the marina with good shops,bars and restaurants.

Lovely resort in a modern design and a unique spot close to the beach. We stayed in a partial view double room and had amazing views, and housekeeping left a small treat each night at the turn down service which was a really nice touch. The breakfast was really lovely and worth adding on. The pools could have been kept a little warmer (we were there in the last week of Apr). Staff are lovely and try very hard though bear in mind everything in Portugal is slower paced if you are coming from bigger cities. Some lovely restaurants on site but also in nearby Sagres and Vila do Bispo. Thoughtfully designed for families with children. Caters to lots of activities including tennis, padel, road cycling etc

Really beautiful property with beachfront access, pools and lots of restaurants. Not too far from the strip. The hotel was kind enough to upgrade our room and offered a delightful bottle of wine to celebrate our engagement. Would definitely recommend!

L’hôtel était très bien. La chambre était propre et bien entretenue. Le buffet était raisonnable en approvisionnement et nous pouvions faire une demande au personnel afin de commander des oeufs selon notre préférence. La piscine était magnifique et la plage était à 9 minutes à pieds. J’ai beaucoup apprécié mon séjour

The birthday gift was a great surprise

This is a very good hotel, well situated, comfortable generous rooms, relaxed hotel, lovely pool area and grounds, good options at the buffet, but missing a few nice to have eggs options (poached eggs, omelette). The drinks are of decent quality, and the evening and dsy entertainment was top notch. The restaurant experience was notably lacking personal service and lacked hospitality which seems to have changed since our last visit. Everyone else was courteous and professional and helpful with information or requests. The hotel has changed ownership and lost some local flavour and personality but it is a very comfortable stay while visiting the area.

Pros: The room was exactly as described—very clean, spacious, and comfortable. Breakfast was good, and we also enjoyed the food from the poolside bar. The property itself is beautiful, with lush landscaping and a relaxing atmosphere. Cons: The “direct beach access” felt a bit misleading. Because of the cliffs, accessing the beach requires either a 15-minute walk down the road or navigating 300+ stairs to a secluded beach. The walk itself isn’t too bad, but it was difficult with my wife being 7 months pregnant. The shower temperature constantly fluctuated to scalding hot, which made my 3-year-old afraid to use it. During our stay, I cut my toe and asked staff for a bandage, but was told they didn’t have any available, which was surprising for a hotel of this caliber. Parking was also frustrating—spaces seemed first-come, first-served each day, and when we tried to use the underground garage, the gate wouldn’t open. Overall: The hotel has many positives, especially the beautiful grounds, clean rooms, and good food, but a few practical issues made the stay less convenient than expected.

The room was very clean and clean towels were provided daily. We had a great view of the sea and the harbour. There was a very good range at breakfast. It was birthday whilst I was there and I arrived back to the room to find a complimentary bottle of wine and a large slice of cake, which I thought was such a thoughtful treat. Will happily return to this hotel
