It's a 5 star hotel and it shows. It is large, has plenty of amenities and resources for the guests. A few restaurants and a bar (admittedly we didn't get to try any). The breakfast was good. The pool was nice and comforting on the hot days we had. The hotel room was very spacious. And the bathroom was larger than I'm used to. We'd been in other hotels durong our Portugal trip that were quite small, so this was a welcome change. Overall we loved this hotel. I saw other reviews mention the hotel seemed outdated and needed renovations. I see where they are coming from, however we did not find it to be as bad as others commented it was. I think they were overreacting, especially considering the other hotels available in that area. For the low price we paid, our stay was magnificent. We are glad we stayed here.

Room was very clean and spacious.

I used to stay at this location when it was a Radisson, and unfortunately, the standards are simply not the same. I may have even paid more back then, but everything was so top-notch that I didn’t mind. This time, the bathroom wasn’t properly cleaned, housekeeping opened the door twice while I was still in the room, and I was overcharged for breakfast. Parking is also €20 a day, despite the parking lot being practically empty. The only real positive for me was the shuttle bus to Disneyland. Overall, quite disappointing compared to what this hotel used to be.

The hotel itself is magnificent, sitting on the hillside overlooking the Welsh and English border. From the moment you step in you know you are inside a great hotel and full of history. The team where attentive and ensured we were looked after at check in and throughout. The upgrade was reasonably priced and well worth it having full access to the Signature areas. The signature lounge was impressive and with stunning views. Thank you all for a very enjoyable stay.
