Staff were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Room was huge and very clean and comfortable with luxurious bathroom. Parking - despite single yellow lines you can park on the road at any time of the day. We managed to get one of the 2 spots on the driveway. Hotel is within walking distance of train station, cafes and shops.

We had a wonderful stay at Whispering Pine Lodge and absolutely loved our time there. The property is simply beautiful, with an incredible setting and a great deal of thought and care evident throughout. Our room was very nice, comfortable and cosy, although it was a little on the smaller side for a family travelling with luggage. I am not sure there is much that can be done about this given the character of the property. The staff were equally impressive — warm, attentive and genuinely lovely. From a seamless check-in to arranging restaurant bookings, everything was handled effortlessly. Even our additional requests, including a fan for the room and a change of bedding, were taken care of promptly and with a smile. It is rare to find a place where the setting, property and service come together so well. An amazing place, beautifully maintained and run by an equally amazing team. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back!

Conveniently located to train station

We were upgraded to a fancy room apparently which was on the 6th floor. We expected a great view of the city however we were disappointed to find no windows in the room. Very claustrophobic. Nice comfy bed and a decent breakfast. Grossly overpriced at £210 for the night for 2 of us. Far superior hotels in the city centre area at significantly lower prices are available. Won’t visit again. That about covers it.
