"The property is exactly as advertised. It is a bargain for its location, just 3 blocks from 5th Avenue and from the beach in the very nice and modern Colonia Zazhil-Ha. There are some very nice outdoor spaces, a plunge pool, and the room is well appointed comfortable. There’s a Roku TV, a coffeemaker, refrigerator, hot plate, breakfast bar, AC, even a book shelf with books. when you’re in Playa, you probably won’t spend much time in your room, but it’s nice to have a comfy, affordable option...

"Dan and Cindy were amazing hosts. Great communication, we had treats waiting for us, and the place was charming. Not to far from downtown (walking distance) and close to taxi intersections. We rented a scooter and was delivered to Los Alcatraces (property) thanks to Dan and Cindy’s connections, and that was the way to go. We enjoyed tremendously our time there!!! Highly recommended."

"The place is a little sketchy but worked for a one night stay pinch. I like a firm bed…… this bed was like concrete! Don’t try to use the bathroom for real because you can’t flush the paper. Although if you’re looking for a super cheap getaway, I’d still look elsewhere UNLESS they change their beds. You can always walk to the mall to use those bathrooms so you can actually flush. "We chose this mainly for location and great value. All inclusive part was nice to have even though we go a lot into the city to enjoy great local restaurants. We had plenty of parking for our rental and the restaurants in the resort had pretty good food whenever we were too tired from snorkeling all day and decided to eat at the resort. "It was great! Nice king bed and spacious room! Only issue I didn’t like was the entrance, you have to enter through a tequila shop and after hours late at night, you just have to hope the security guard is there to let you in. I didn’t have an issue during my stay, but I prefer knowing I can come and go as I please whenever with a hotel that has a 24/7 front desk."

"It was in a great location. We stayed inside a jungle in a cabin like room. However they need to improve the services and amenities inside the room. It has lack of lighting, one fan at the corner is not sufficient, no paper towel, bin inside the room. There was no shampoo or conditioner other than the body wash. The bed was stinky, not enough hangers. Overall the amenities need to be improved a lot based on the rent they are charging."

"Staff was very friendly, rooms spotless and extremely spacious, views from the rooftop were pretty, rooftop pools and area were fantastic, parking was easy. Only downsides were wifi was very weak and spotty, shower was a good temperature but didn’t not get hot hot, and no hair dryer in the room so you would have to call for one. Other than that, this is a place I would definitely come back to."

"Just returned from a two week stay. We'd give the Princess Sunset 6 stars if we could. The room, public areas, dining options, food quality, grounds, pools, beach and general facilities were all top class. Service was also great - we had one or two very minor issues (in room coffee maker not working for example) and they were fixed almost immediately and there was a call to check that whatever it was had been taken care of and that we were happy. Liked it so much we have already booked the same two weeks for next year."
