![A world of subterranean wonders, a milestone in geological discoveries, Luray caverns, is a wonderful weekend getaway for those who are living near DC or Virginia. It is around 2 hours (or more) drive from washington DC.
This is a picture of the "Dream Lake", a spring of water which has a mirror-like appearance. Stalactites are reflected in the water making them appear to be stalagmites. This gives an illusion that the lake is deeper. The lake is connected to a spring that continues deeper into the caverns.
All in all, it was my first time exploring caverns. It was a fun filled day, learning the stories of the cavern.

Tips: 
1) It is very crowded on weekends and holidays. If you want to enjoy peaceful, slow paced, less crowded tour of the caverns, go on weekdays.
2) If you visit the caverns, look for these things-
Saracen's tent - scarves and shawls of translucent calcite, falling in graceful folds, fringed with a thousand patterns, and so thin that a candle light can reveal the structure within!
The fried eggs formation - yes, it looks like fried eggs ;)
The Great Stalacpipe Organ - An actual organ which plays music- sounds of Stalactites! DO NOT miss this one!

« Communication was excellent. The check in and check out process was simple. The coffee pot still had coffee and mold in it, so that is why I took a star off for cleanliness. We notified the resort via the Vrbo app and they responded right away. I would love to come in the summer when you could enjoy the pool and lake. »

Pour le retour vers l’aéroport c’était simple et rapide. "
