Nice enough hotel for the price. Right next to a ton of restaurants and shopping options. Pool wasn't open, and my room keys continually became unprogrammed and needed to be redone (I made sure to keep them away from credit cards and my cellphone, but it didn't make a difference.)

The Hidden Rest Perk, A Friendly Desk Clerk!

I arrived at the Comfort Suites in Northwest Topeka, KS very tired and in need of some serious rest! In spite of the fact that the motel was fully booked and the room assignments were giving him fits, the front desk clerk was so pleasant and friendly that I felt like I was walking into my Mom's house!

Check in was easy. I go to the room changed clothes and head to the gym, bike is out of order. So, I decided to go to Sauna, Sauna does not work. Lets try the pool, water is to cold. Head back to my room to shower to find out there were no towels. Additionally, the only ice maker that work was on the 1st floor. Best thing was the lady who works during breakfast, she is full of energy and very friendly.

the basic room, location, breakfast and service was fine for just a 2 night stay. The sofa bed was not fine. They need an upgrade for sure: 1/2 in matress with holes/tears etc. and the frame was caved in so the bottom half of your body was tilted to the ground. Freezer in the fridge has not been defrosted in quite some time.

Overall the stay was fine. It's what you would expect to find in this price range. The service was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean but aged. The breakfast area was clean and well kept during the morning breakfast time. The AC/Heating control panel was only partially functioning and the shower control lever worked but was damaged. Everything else in the room was fine.

There was NO hot tub, the heated pool was cold, there was a sauna but it was broken. Breakfast was just ok. Our room had black mold in the shower, leaky window the rain came in and pooled up on the ac that also had mold in it. The room had water damage to the ceiling and walls.

The room was clean however when I first came up to the door of my room it was aja. After clearing g the room I looked at the locks and they look to be Jerry rigged but I finally got it closed after slamming the door. I would’ve given 5 stars but I’d never had that happen to me.
