It's very convenient and easy to go around for food and shopping. Other than that, everything else is terrible about this hotel: it is very old, not so clean, there's a very bad smell in the bathroom on the 3rd floor dining area, bad customer service, building structure is terrible (water leaks inside the room from the window when raining), very limited daylights in the room, and most important, there's ants inside the room! Horrible! Overall this hotel is old and not good. Despite the activities outside, the building is quite well insulated from the street noise. The hotel is quite basic, but the staff is very friendly. My (standard) room was small but clean and the bed was comfortable. The hotel has a dining area on level 3 with FREE snacks, coffee and soft drinks!! Hotel building is an older one, you will get an actual metal door key for your room! But with that, be prepared NOT TO FLUSH toilet paper: there is even a sign there tells you not to. Just that there was only 1 bathroom. The bathtub was not in the greatest condition but everything was functioning. Great location as it is right in the middle of Ximending and walkable to Ximen station. We loved the location and enjoyed our stay. Was super grateful that we were able to check-in earlier than 5pm due to low season. Enjoyed the free snacks and drinks that were available.
