The shower was a particular highlight, two different showerheads, great water pressure and some lovely complimentary shower gel and conditioner. As I was staying over a weekend, the hotel staff took the courtesy of warning about potential noise from the nearby high street, however this was a non-issue during my stay - once the window was shut, I put my head down to sleep with no issues whatsoever. I would quite gladly stay at the Red Lion again next time I'm in Basingstoke, the place has a real charm and character to it and the service was genuinely excellent." They kept saying there was issue as there was insufficient fund in my card but I had already paid for stay. They blamed Expedia for this. Already a bad start to the stay. The rooms itself are good then when it came to the next day, even though we paid for late checkout cleaning staff opened the door while we were sleeping at 11\. No knock prior. Overall bad experience this time.
