The staff are all friendly and willing to help in any way possible. The hotel is centrally located and close to all the major sites you would want
to visit.
Trojan at the front desk was extremely helpful and friendly. The room itself was very nice and the AC worked well for the hot August nights we stayed. Finding it was a little tricky, but not too bad (look for a small sign by a large wood double door). It was a very nice and convenient place to stay!
My husband and I (in our 60’s) stayed in double room for 2 nights at Hotel Ciao and were happy with it. Staff helpful. Spacious, quiet room. Hotel and neighborhood felt safe. Across the street from the train/metro station so great base for sightseeing but also easy to walk to many attractions. Easy to catch early Leonardo Express train to Rome airport. We would definitely stay here again.
Staff was excellent. Very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean. The air conditioning worked well. Location was perfect. Very close to the train station and many restaurants. Would book again and recommend to others.
Rooms are clean and staff is friendly. However, if you are expecting a hotel with a regular lobby/reception, you might be surprised. The building is accessed through a regular door and reception is on the 2nd floor. Most importantly, there are stairs to the elevator, so if you have heavy bags that might be a problem (staff was helpful in helping us up).
The Hotel Ciao has the friendliest and most helpful staff ever! The location is amazing - right across from Termini Station and near many shops, pharmacy, supermarket and food places. I traveled alone and felt very safe. It is perfect if you need an place that makes It easy to get to and from other places via train or metro. They stored my luggage for me overnight when I left and returned. I will use this hotel in future trips to Rome.
Staff very good with suggestions and help with luggage - good coffee machine
Ruby at front desk was very helpful and spoke good English. She ran out for batteries for the hotel scale so I could weigh luggage. Thanks again Ruby
Good location with Termini station across the street.
I would stay again. Bed was softer than I like but was ok for a few nights.
Shower pressure was excellent
Plenty of dining and shopping options. Termini train station across the street. Hotel staff members Ruby and Trojan were excellent in providing information as well as vouchers for croissants and coffee in nearby breakfast venues. Would definitely stay there again.
The room was fine - basic, functional, good A/C. It was WHERE the room was located that turns this into the “3” review offered.
I’ve stayed in places where the actual room was in a building separate from the main one but on the same grounds - that I can handle. But when you’re told at check-in that you’re staying in the “annex”, you start to wonder, especially when it’s made to sound like it’s just next door. This was NOT next door.
Arriving from an early flight, I checked in and was told to expect a WhatsApp message with details when my room was ready.
A bit later, I was texted the following- “With the following link you will be able to open the flat "Hotel Ciao Dependance" DEPENDANCE/ANNEX located in Via Magenta 53 without keys!” Terrific. A couple of minor points. First, no idea where that address was, no map, directions, nada. Thanks to Google Maps, I was led down the block where I turned right, down another shorter block, turned left and found myself at a pair of brown doors. I tried the link and after a couple of tries, it opened! However, that turned out to be the first of 4 doors to get in, the last one does NOT open without an actual key. Hence, a phone call which sent someone to provide same.
There’s also the matter of 2 long flights of stairs (no elevators) to get to the room (thankfully they put my bags in the room) and while they offered to move them at checkout, I couldn’t wait.
Bottom line - the price doesn’t make up for the inconvenience.
