Beautiful hotel. The breakfast restaurant was rather slow and when an issue arose did not deal with it as well as one would expect from a 5 star place. Their bar place also gets filled up quickly. Stay here but eat elsewhere.

Our air conditioning was broken 1/2 nights we stayed here. Since they were all booked up we weren’t able to move rooms until the next day so had to have an over heated/ extremely humid room for half of our stay :( the staff was nice about it but I wish we could’ve received some of our money back given it took away from the luxurious feel.

We stayed in the penthouse room with two bedrooms. Be sure to check availability of that room type with balcony or terrace. Note that there are penthouse rooms that come with neither a balcony nor a terrace. Although the room was great, we were disappointed with having no outdoor space. Our room was located at the front of the hotel on King Street. We didn’t realize how much noise there would be from the street and from the stores under the room. Be sure to request a room on the third floor or towards the back of the property. The staff was friendly, especially the valet staff. We also arranged for a sunset sail through the hotel that was the highlight of our trip to Charleston. I highly recommend that. We also ate at the restaurant Lowland and it was a great experience. Our waiter, in particular, was very knowledgeable and a real pleasure.

Reasonably priced. The advertised view of the marshes was actually a view of the parking lots. Would pick the creekside room next time. Walk-in shower was nice. Bed comfortable. No complaints.
