"La chambre tait propre et bien aménagée. Elle bénéficierait d'un petit rafraichissement, notemment dans la douche (buses de la tête de douche bouchée par le calcaire). Personnel très sympathique et chaleureux. La piscine ne ressemblait pas aux photos, fonctionnelle mais vieillotte. Le carrelage au sol autour de la piscine est un vrai piège en été, il devient brulant au soleil. Nid de guêpes juste à coté... je n'ai pas aimé mon passage à la piscine."

"What a gem of a find, we stayed for one night whilst travelling from England to Spain. We was warmly greeted on arrival and went straight into the pool after a very long day. The host then prepared a fantastic 3 course home cooked meal with wine. Room was spacious, clean and bed comfy, with a wonderful views over the vineyards. In the morning a lovely prepared breakfast outside and the friendly hosts couldn’t be more accommodating. We will 100% be returning each year as we travel to Spain, thank...

Top Puicheric Hotel Reviews

Hotel du Pont Vieux, au pied de la Cité Médiévale

10/10 Excellent

"Lovely hotel. Have stayed before and will hopefully visit again."

Résidence Carmina

10/10 Excellent

"The hotel is perfectly situated for visiting the medieval city of Carcassonne. If you are looking for a central hotel at a reasonable price this is the perfect choice. The room was a spacious apartment with separate living/kitchenette and bedroom. The bathroom was spacious. The bed was very comfortable and the apartment was well furnished and clean. The residents of the hotel were friendly and I think it is a good idea to utilise the spare rooms for hotel guests. The hotel had secure parking as well."

Tribe Carcassonne

8/10 Good

"The hotel has a great view of the castle and the roof top bar is definitely a bonus. The room was clean and have everything we needed however the toilet was in what can only be described as a cupboard with no space at all. The decor was too dark so much so that we couldn’t find the light switches! The carpet was black and when we dropped a black hair brush on the floor it took us 10 Minutes to find it!"

Zenitude Hôtel - Résidences Narbonne Centre

10/10 Excellent

"I booked last minute due to being stuck due to train cancellations. The property was very close to the train station, market, restaurants, etc. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. There is onsite laundry facilities as well. The room was spacious and clean. The area was peaceful and safe."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Puicheric?

The best area to stay in Puicheric is within the village itself, particularly near the Canal du Midi.

Puicheric is a small, quiet village, and most of its amenities and charm are concentrated around the canal and the village centre. The Canal du Midi runs directly through the village, offering picturesque views and easy access to walking and cycling paths along the towpath. The village's main street, Rue du Château, leads to the historic Château de Puicheric and features a few local shops and a restaurant.

Couples looking for a relaxing escape will find the village ideal. Staying close to the Canal du Midi allows for leisurely strolls or bike rides along the water, and the lack of city hustle provides a peaceful setting. The local restaurant offers a convenient dining option without needing to travel far.

For those travelling with family, staying within the village provides easy access to the canal for outdoor activities like cycling or boating. The village is small enough for children to explore easily, and the general ambience is very welcoming.

When is the best time to go to Puicheric?

The best time to visit Puicheric is generally during the late spring (May to June) and early autumn (September to October) when the weather is pleasant for outdoor activities and exploring the region.

During these months, you'll find comfortable temperatures, typically ranging from 18°C to 25°C, making it ideal for cycling along the Canal du Midi, visiting local vineyards, or exploring the nearby Cathar castles. The crowds are also generally smaller than in the peak summer months, allowing for a more relaxed experience.

Families travelling with children might prefer late spring or early autumn for outdoor adventures and sightseeing. The milder weather is great for canal boat trips or exploring the historic sites without the intense heat of summer. You'll also find it easier to book accommodations and activities during these shoulder seasons.

Couples looking for a romantic getaway will appreciate the tranquil atmosphere of Puicheric in late spring or early autumn. The vineyards are either in bloom or harvest, offering picturesque scenery, and many local restaurants are less busy, providing a more intimate dining experience.
