If you choose to walk up or down the 600 stairs, be aware that there is a lot of donkey and mule "output" and they like to crowd you on the stairs. We found it best to be about 6-12 inches from the wall so, if needed, we could adjust to the wall at the last second. These animals do the route all the time and will take any room you give them.
