Duerson Point Vacation Packages

Beautiful place, clean and conveniently located, but severely understaffed--never anyone at the bar, restaurant seemed to always be closed, no housekeeping (stayed 2 nights)...valet was never around (on our first night they had "gone home because of the rain") so we had to cross train tracks on a darkened street to get to their parking lot. Janky elevators (1 of them wouldn't stop on the 2nd floor, the other's call button on the 2nd floor wasn't working). And I'd say not a fan of the "digital check-in process," had still not received our code several hours after responding to the request for our mobile number & email address. Thank goodness someone was actually there at the front desk when we arrived who could help (she said that messages via 3rd party booking sites like Hotels.com--like the multiple ones I sent with our contact info--never come through).

The Fri t desk guy was excellent. He was there when we checked in late afternoon and also when we checked out late morning which made me wonder about staffing. He was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. The property and room were clean but dated. The site says it has a restaurant and bar but there is not. Breakfast was very mediocre. The usual hotel eggs, potato’s and waffles were fine but the rest was cold. The biscuits were literally cold. And no orange juice? Overall I’d stay again for location but temper my expectations for anything other than a clean safe room.
