"Kind of a quirky place - one big open concept room with fully stocked kitchen, dining room, 2 comfy queen beds and a living room section plus the bathroom with a washer and dryer. The apartment had lots of windows, fresh air and a balcony with views out onto the water and Cheticamp Island. It was very spacious - at least for two people. "We had an absolutely wonderful 3 night stay at Nanook's Den! A perfect cabin and location for exploring the hiking trails of the Highlands and driving the scenic loop of the Cabot Trail. The house was very comfortable and had all the necessities, and more. We had made dinner reservations for several of our nights then decided to cook at home, to be able to enjoy the peaceful view from the back patio. Each room was tastefully decorated to embrace a touching connection to Alaska and the kitchen was perfectly stocked with everything you could need. It was quite warm while we were there so having air conditioning available was a real plus--as was having a full washer and dryer in the downstairs room (also great for storing bags). We walked to the Quarry from the house and hiked the Acadian and Skyline (especially nice in the late afternoon when it was less crowded) trails, and drove the full loop from Cheticamp around to Baddeck (with a fantastic lunch stop at Morrison's in North Cape) and back home one day. Another good lunch at Dancing Goat Cafe in Margaree Harbor and we picked up breakfast goodies each morning from Aucoin or Last Chance Sandwich Shop. The Highlands are a spectacular slice of heaven and we can't wait to return--and would definitely come back to Nanook's Den! P.S. We played golf at Cabot Cliffs at 4 pm the day before coming to Cheticamp--amazing course, views, and memorable sunset!"

"The listing didn't do the property justice. What an amazing little place. My family loved everything about our stay. The bedrooms were roomy and comfortable and the sunroom were great to relax in. The small path to the hidden deck was a great place to watch the sunset and have a morning coffee with some surprises if you pay attention. Would love to stay here again when traveling."

"Really enjoyed staying at the Archie & Isidore! Location was convenient for our needs. Room was really nice, well decorated and clean. Great communication from the owners and welcome drinks and snacks was a great surprise. We loved sitting on the deck and enjoyed the view of the water."

"Very nice cozy property with a view if the mountains and lovely whale watching beach in waking distance. We enjoyed the proximity to the national park, hiking trails anx students. The property itself was adorable with a hot tub and fir pits to use after long day of hiking with the kiddos. The hosts are lovely, responsive and generous in sharing their knowledge of the area. I appreciated the heads up that we needed to make reservations for the skyline trail ahead of time (would not have realized this otherwise until are arrival). Definitely will recommend for others looking to explore the beautiful Cape Breton highland park and western beaches."
