"We had a lovely weekend at Simone’s placeWonderful hiking nearby and a peaceful escape from the city. We got to have our favorite Catskills pizza at Ollies in High Falls and see fireflies in the yard at night. Clean and well appointed and would certainly come back again. "

"We stayed for 2 nights. Hosts communicated promptly over Vrbo and text message to clarify details in the days prior to arrival. Check-in process was straightforward: one of the hosts met me at the gate and we drove up to the property together. Kitchen is well-stocked with dishware. The play room has a projector, as well as various toys that are perfect to entertain a toddler. The house has a lot of memorabilia due to its unusual history. A/C in the living room and play room work well. Plenty of seating area for people to chat or have a little time alone as well. Beware that the bunk beds are not very long (maybe about 6' total).Of course, by far the most amazing aspect is the falls visible and audible from the porch. The water level was high, even though we visited in late June. Several trails start from the cabin location itself, including one which goes to Atwater Falls. This short hike is absolutely worth it, though hikers should be cautioned to wear long pants, bring insect repellent, and do thorough checks for ticks, as the trail is overgrown with grasses.Just as a heads up to future bookers-- you will encounter various wildlife, in particular deer and salamanders/newts outdoors and millipedes, spiders, moths, etc. indoors. It's a cabin in the woods, so this is expected, but be mindful of this aspect if it is not for you.Absolute joy to stay in, everyone had a great time!"

"All were excited to stay up in the mountains and be together for a few days. The hot tub was the biggest hit as for two days it rained quite a bit this was something they could still do along with the ping pong table and foose ball. All in all it was a more relaxed stay which made it nice for my hubbie. Thanks to Michelle for her explanation of the amenities that weren’t there and why also. It’s a nice retreat place to stay also! "

"Great location and we’d consider staying there again. That said, there were too few dishes (6 for a house claiming sleeps 14), half full propane and 3 empties under the deck, water pressure was nearly non-existent, 50 fee if we used more than 2 garbage bags (don’t recall that in listing), lower floor bathroom no hot water, deck chair was broken on arrival and not safe. Wondered if we were first rental of the year…"

"The gatehouse was a perfect spot for a girls trip getaway. Secluded enough, but close to some local activities and restaurants! Cozy vibe and place had everything we needed!"

"We had a great time. The tent and toilet were clean. We appreciated the water provided and the cookware. The only thing to note is that there is a bit of walking on a rocky trail before reaching the campsite (not next to the parking spot). The river was fun to explore but can be difficult for younger kids to get to. The campsite is close to Minnewaska State Park, very convenient. "

"Loved this stay! A very cute place in a quiet spot near to all the hikes that we wanted to do. Clean! Love the little touches like the record player and coffee! The whole area is very beautiful! "
