I stayed at Hotel Cano Hondo for 5 nights in January 2026. The atmosphere is relaxed and authentic, with friendly staff and a nice location.

Bathroom was nasty, the AC broke down 2 times and wouldn’t cool the room. The Shuttle is a mess non friendly drivers and doesn’t pass by enough your better of walking. Some staff members seem as if they didn’t want to be there and did not go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The Hotel has plenty of things to do with good pools nice beach and great entertainment.

I recently stayed at the Viva Wyndham all-inclusive hotel and had a mixed but overall decent experience. Starting with the positives, the room was very clean and well-maintained throughout my stay, which made a great first impression. The air conditioning worked exceptionally well—definitely a big plus, especially in the warmer climate. The staff truly stood out; everyone I interacted with was friendly, welcoming, and eager to help, which added a lot to the overall experience. The hotel also has two bars that were both enjoyable, offering a good atmosphere and solid drink options. However, there are several areas that need improvement. The food was probably the biggest disappointment. While there was variety, it lacked authenticity and flavor. Introducing more authentic and diverse food options would significantly enhance the dining experience. Another issue was the entertainment setup. The entertainment area is not enclosed, and the noise carries late into the night, making it difficult for guests to get proper rest. Enclosing this space or better managing sound levels would make a big difference. The beach is inconveniently located about a 3–5 minute walk from the hotel, which a little bit farther than expected, and the resort itself seems understaffed. Because of this, not all restaurants are open daily—typically one is closed, while the others are often fully booked, making it frustrating to plan for dinner. Rooms were short on towels . Pool towels were very hard to get . Bar ran out of coconut rum 4 nights . Staff is friendly and try to help you . Breakfast was good but ran out of bacon many mornings . The fresh omeletes were fantastic as well as the chef .
