## Emplacement The 2nd arrondissement of Paris is one of the historical financial centers of Europe, being home to the former Stock Exchange which is now called Brongniart Palace. Other major activities in the area are journalism and fashion. The 2nd is also famous for its Sainte-Anne street, known to Parisians as a haunt for typical Japanese restaurants and shops. The 2nd arrondissement is also home to the galleries -- traditional covered passages lined with shops -- which are quite possibly the prototypes of today's shopping malls. While the previously mentioned activities are all daylight activities, the eastern end of the arrondissement - notably the charming rue Montorgueil - has an entirely different reputation, younger and more dynamic.
## Transports - Subway: Lines 8 and 9: Bonne Nouvelle station: 5-minute walk. Line 3: Bourse station: 6-minute walk.
- Bus : Lines 20 and 39: Sentier station: 3-minute walk. Lines 74, 85, N15 and N16: Réaumur - Montmartre station: 3-minute walk.
- From Gare de Lyon: 20 minutes by subway. - From Paris-Orly airport: 45 minutes by cab.

We had a good stay. The apartment was smaller than we anticipated, but it worked well for my friend and I. Communication was a problem, since my cellphone couldn't take or make overseas calls. One comment we both had was with two people for 13 nights, more toilet paper would have been good, we bought our own in the end. Also, two sets of sheets for two people would be better, as we slept in separate beds. But the location was excellent, the washing machine was so appreciated, and kitchen worked well for us.
