Paradise Vacation Packages

The room was dirty and unkempt. The walls had black scuffs on them, the floor had stains, the bathroom was dirty and the toilet had streaks on it. The beds had metal frames like a Murphy bed. We went back to the reception and asked for a different room and he said the only difference is the toilet seat. We handed in our keys. A couple behind us was also turning in keys. We were told to talk to the manager on Monday about a refund. I never was able to contact him, called Hotels.com who also had no luck. Received an email from the hotel “ Before you share your experience publicly, we wanted to personally check in and make sure everything during your stay met your expectations… Our property is also in the middle of an important improvement period. We are continuing to make thoughtful upgrades throughout the hotel, including refreshed guest rooms, enhanced breakfast offerings, warm cookies, improved amenities, outdoor guest areas, better comfort touches, and continued renovation work across the property. Some rooms have already been fully renovated, while others are still waiting for their final updates. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue investing in the hotel and creating a better experience for every guest”. This was NOT disclosed when we arrived. The hotel should have refunded our money. Yes we were not writhing the cancellation policy any longer but the hotels refusal to refund our money for a substandard room is bad business.

The staff was amazing and friendly. The hotel was clean and really close to UC Davis campus. If you are going to visit there this the place to stay.

Room was ok, not great. Bathroom had a constant funky smell, like a backed-up drain
